Mosaic Velvet
‘Mosaic’, a collection of four cut and loop pile velvet designs, inspired by the glamorous interiors of the 1930s with their decadent mix of geometric patterns on furniture and ceramics, combined with luxurious velvets & animal skins.
The velvets are woven on wire looms using a traditional weave technique whereby the warp is woven over a wire to create a loop which can be afterwards cut to create the velvet pile, or left as a loop. This technique is slower to weave and more expensive than other velvet production but the resulting contrasting textures give an extra dimension to the designs.
