Damasco Antico
In this collection of weaves, the Zoffany studio has taken traditional China Blue prints as the theme. These historically important designs were the first indigo blue prints ever produced and are characterised by their simple motifs and unusual dot patterns which are a feature of the printing process. Originally exported mainly to America, few examples survive and are mostly in museums, the most famous of which is the Winterthur Museum near Boston
